WorkSafe ACT Silica Symposium

As part of National Safe Work Month 2020, on 30 October WorkSafe ACT held a ‘Silica Symposium’ industry panel discussion, Chaired by Work Health and Safety Commissioner, Jacqueline Agius.

WorkSafe ACT has prioritised its regulatory response to enforcement of compliance with silica dust exposure standards as part of its Statement of Operational Intent. You can read more about silica dust from the WorkSafe ACT website, here.

This silica symposium provided industry stakeholders with information about the risks associated with silica dust exposure, with advice on managing these risks provided by Martin Jennings, Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienist.
